The Gibson Custom Shop 1961 SG Standard Ultra Heavy Aged captures the raw energy and vintage character of an original '61 SG, meticulously aged by the Murphy Lab for an authentically worn-in look and feel. Finished in Double Gold Ultra Heavy Aged, this guitar exudes a battle-hardened aesthetic while delivering the high-performance playability of a Custom Shop masterpiece.
Constructed with a solid mahogany body and neck, this SG features cream binding on both the body and fretboard for an elegant touch. The Authentic Thin D-shaped neck profile offers fast, comfortable playability, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo Jescar frets for a smooth playing experience.
Equipped with CustomBucker Alnico 3 pickups, the un-potted, aged humbuckers capture the rich, dynamic tones of a vintage SG-whether delivering glassy cleans or searing overdrive. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stop bar tailpiece ensure rock-solid tuning stability and resonance, while Kluson Deluxe tuners complete the vintage-correct hardware package.
